Has MS ever embraced openness? They don't want to create that kind of image. They want to create an image where they control everything, and everything has to conform to them - it's for this reason why IE doesn't follow web standards (back in the day, you wrote webpages for internet explorer, there was no concept that webpages should be written one way that looks the same in every browser, partly because there were no other browsers), why they had to invent OOXML and .NET (although Java sucks, so you can make a case why .NET was needed). That's just not how MS operates.

Those teenagers that are sentenced for 50-60 years cost us money when they could be educated for a fraction of that cost. Showing these kids what they did wrong and why not to do it is more important than giving them a cot and metal wall siding.?
