Yes, it is often perfectly fine to receive a text and not a call since my phone would be on vibrate and I can communicate without actually having to speak. I would rather someone sends me a text if it's just info, in the case that I don't pick it up and don't have to listen to some voice mail which I often have to replay so I can redial a number they are dictating to me..
