I don't do a lot of political art, but that's the one piece I did inspired by my opposition to the war.In that piece, titled "blood stained liberty", the figure in the center represents the spirit of liberty. She's shackled to the bodies of dead American Soldiers and Iraqis. She's strong, but she's strained by the weight of the atrocities carried out in her name, and the blood is seeping up her dress. The world trade center represents that tragedy, while the All-Seeing Eye represents the mystery still surrounding it.I love America, and that's while I feel so strongly about opposing our foreign invasions which I feel are destroying what America represents. The image is not Anti-American. Liberty is strong and dignified, but also in turmoil. The flag is majestic, but also singed by the fires of war, and terms like liberty and freedom have been cheapened by their frivolous misuse in the marketing Bush's invasions.You may have been sarcastic, but the piece, while anti-war, is very much pro America.
